What are the most important literary elements in a story to you?
I believe the most important element is Character in my opinion. Without character there is no story. If the character is not there there is no story, mood, personality. The story without the character is just the setting. There is no one to progress the story it is just an empty plain.
I believe the second most important element is the Setting. If there is no setting the character has no where to go in the story. There is also no mood or atmosphere. The character can't have feelings because the is what the setting is. All the character is without the setting is his appearence.

I'm very excited for soccer season this year. It is by far my favorite sport. I'm not the best but I believe I am better than most people. That will probably get me some playing time this year. I just home that freshman get to play this year. We are ranked #1 in the state so I hope we live up to that rank.
The only thing that's bad is I have two injuries to worry about. I have an inflamed growth plate in my right ankle that pinches a nerve which causes pain. My other injury is every year I pull my hamstring one way or another from kicking the ball and not stretching. Recently I got a swollen Lymph Node on my right hip preventing me from starting soccer but it will be gone by tomorrow thanks to antibiotics.

Class Island Discussion
When we were figuring out our survival plan it became apparent that we needed a leader. We nominated Jacob as the leader. We decided that you could only talk if you had the "stick" to avoid interruptions. We decided each person would receive one of the first graders to take care of them. We had fairly stable Government.
We decided to break people up into about 8 different jobs. I was nominated the hunting leader and I taught everyone how to. We figured out that we needed more people at certain jobs to live. I figure we would prosper for the first couple weeks until something bad happened or a kid went crazy or got hurt. I believe people would run away.

Harrison Bergeron
Harrison Bergeron is by far one of the weirdest stories I've read. It is set in an alternate reality which I still have hard time understanding. It is sad and at the same time hilarious. I really have no idea how I feel about it. I still am having trouble with the"everyone is equal" part. I don't understand how everyone can talk perfectly fine and the announcers have impediments. That's not equal.
The character of Harrison Bergeron really interests me too. He's a rebel to a terrible society. He was basically freeing everyone from what they were forced to be to what they are. He was doing anything wrong he was actually doing good. The government did not like that and he ended up dying. That's what I call dedication.

Sometimes I just feel overwhelmed with work. Some nights I can barely keep my eyes open when I'm doing my homework (like right now). I know it's because I procrastinate and dig myself in a deeper whole, but when it's all due it just piles up and wears me out. I wish I could keep myself from procrastinating but the internet is so much fun.
Also if I miss an assignment I always forget I can turn it in for partial credit. I could first of all avoid this by doing the assignment when its due but again I procrastinate a lot. I end up doing a lot of my homework in the mornings of the class before they're due. I wish I had a study hall every morning to get my work done for that day because that is how my head works.

Short Story Reading Response
"The Occurrence on Owl Creek Bridge" was a very unexpectedly sad story. Half of the story is a lie to the main character which makes it sad. The main character thinks he's going to escape from his death when it all turns out to be a lie and he ends up hanging from the bridge. He experiences all of the pain but he never really had any injuries. He didn't really deserve what happened to him.
Its weird to me how vivid his escape is. He hears voices, gets shot at, and runs through the woods all like he would in reality. Just as he thinks hes home free nothing is around him he just dies. It really caught me off guard that the story would end that fast. All of that for trespassing.

Changes to My Paper for eBook
Writing in the MLA format I felt really restrained from making my piece fun and attractive. Writing in MLA just looks like big paragraphs with nothing interesting in them. Times New Roman is also boring and unattractive. I hated the MLA format you couldn't do anything with the font, colors or pictures. Those are all things I would do if I were able to add them to an eBook.
First thing I would do is I would keep the title in MLA format except I would make eace line for the name, date, etc different colors. Second, I would change the font to calibri. Nothing drastic to where its unreadable just less boring. I would make the title size 16 so it stands out a little bit more and I might make it a wacky font. Finally, I would copy and paste my document into wordle and add it to the bottom of my paper to add some flavor.

From what I can tell so far I can see that the dwarves are going to accompany Bilbo throughout his adventure. Though I don't know why Gandalf is forcing him to go. Gandalf seemed to be pushing him to go and he was also pressed for time when he read the dwarves letter. I don't think Bilbo is well equipped for the trip considering he forgot his hat. Also I think Elrond is going to be a vital character and may accompany the dwarves.
Elrond deciphered the language on Gandalf's sword. It gives them a way to get into a secret cave. Apparently this cave is mysterious and few have entered it. That gives their adventure a direction and they head for the mountains. It makes the dwarves happy that they finally have something to do and they head off. I think they are going to approach the entrance and find a obstacle in or before the mountain.

The following dialogue is someone taking and an order at 5 Guys but the person can only say five words in a sentence.

-Lady: Cheese
-Cashier: Would you like any condiments or toppings?
-Lady: No thanks
-Cashier: Would you like fries and a drink?
-Lady: Yes and no
-Cashier: Which do you want? *she says with anger in her voice*
-Lady: The drink
-Cashier: Here's your drink ma'am. Your order will be ready shortly. *She says with relief*
-Lady: Cool
Cross Country, The Story of Struggle
This past week I was very busy and tired and having a cross country meet on a Saturday doesn't help that. Waking up is probably the part that takes the most work out of the process. Dragging yourself out of bed at 7:00 on the weekend is pure torture. Then, you reach that point when you splash water on your face and you're finally awake. That's when you realize you have to run two miles in two hours.....
You reach the race and you know your body is not ready for this run. You reach the starting line, looking into the eyes of your opponents realizing they have the same mindset as you. You realize they have better things to do than run two miles at 9:00 in the morning.
You hear the start gun and the race begins. You notice everyone is in better shape than you and you should probably work harder at practice. You then get with the people around the speed you run. You look around at the skinny dedicated runners in first with pity. You wish you had it as easy as them.
Reaching the second mile you realize that every single person has run way faster than they should have. Everyone has terrible pain in their bodies, some people would prefer dying to finishing at this point. You come down a curved hill and see the straight away, and you start to notice people passing you with so much energy. You realize you ran so hard you can't finish the race with the speed you want to. You hear your coach yelling at you to run faster but the pain is to much you practical walk across the finish line with so much happiness in your heart, and you realize that it is the hardest sport in the world.

At first when I start reading this book I notice it has the very same character as in Lord of the Rings, Bilbo Baggins. It shows how this character and Gandalf meet for the first time because in the latter book they were already good friends. As the story progresses Gandalf tells Bilbo he needs to go on a adventure. This I'm inferring will be the very adventure that he will find the ring on in the next book. Bilbo is very reluctant to go on his adventure.
I can already tell I'm going to like this book from its feel. Its written very similar to the Fellowship of the Ring. The plot seems like it's going to also be very similar considering it's the same characters at a earlier period of time. It will probably jump right into the adventure unlike the other book where you had to wait. I feel like this story will contain less action though.

Lord of The Rings Book Reccomendation
I really enjoyed The Lord of The Rings: Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien. The book is primarily about adventure to save everyone from death. One of the things I found so intriguing about this book was the action that took place. There was never really a moment where nothing vital was happening to them. Tolkien did a great job at making me get lost in his story. Once I started I didn't want to stop reading and that has never happened to me before. If you are into action and life or death situations this book is perfect for you.
Also this book consists consists of thins such as "Middle Earth", dwarves, elves, and magic. So depending on whether you are into that or not you might want to stay away from it. The characters in this book and their races didn't really bother me because it didn't really change the characters personality but if you are afraid of being judged by that don' read this book.
