NHD Project

My National History Day Project is on the nuclear meltdown in Chernobyl. The nuclear meltdown occured in 1986 in a medium-populated area. After this meltdown it released radiation into the surrounding areas. It affected the animals and humans for miles and miles. This can cause complications in the animal or human that has been under the affects of the radiation.

Unfortunately people under the affects can cause cancer. The radiation can also be passed on through child birth which is why this is important toady. People are still getting affected 25 years after the event. My todo list is to make a few more bibliographies to improve my research.

Chanler's Generated Prompt

Chanler - What would happen in a world where it was the child's choice to go to school? Would you go to school?

In a world where is was a child's choice to go to school it would be chaos. I would say a majority of the kids would refuse to go to school simply for the fact that they "Didn't like it" Then not many children would excel in life and receive Jobs once they reach adulthood. You could see this on the day of optional school where only half of the kids showed up on time. The only kids that showed up on time were the ones that parents made them.

If I had the choice to not go to school I think I would still go. If you don't go to school you can't follow your career path of your choosing. You might just end up in a job with low pay and you won't have any fun what so ever. Instead you could follow your interests and end up making money doing things you enjoy. I don't want to get stuck earning minimum wage for the rest of my life.

Blog Prompt

What are the most important literary elements in a story to you?

I believe the most important element is Character in my opinion. Without character there is no story. If the character is not there there is no story, mood, personality. The story without the character is just the setting. There is no one to progress the story it is just an empty plain.

I believe the second most important element is the Setting. If there is no setting the character has no where to go in the story. There is also no mood or atmosphere. The character can't have feelings because the is what the setting is. All the character is without the setting is his appearence.

Free Post

I'm very excited for soccer season this year. It is by far my favorite sport. I'm not the best but I believe I am better than most people. That will probably get me some playing time this year. I just home that freshman get to play this year. We are ranked #1 in the state so I hope we live up to that rank.

The only thing that's bad is I have two injuries to worry about. I have an inflamed growth plate in my right ankle that pinches a nerve which causes pain. My other injury is every year I pull my hamstring one way or another from kicking the ball and not stretching. Recently I got a swollen Lymph Node on my right hip preventing me from starting soccer but it will be gone by tomorrow thanks to antibiotics.

Class Island Discussion

When we were figuring out our survival plan it became apparent that we needed a leader. We nominated Jacob as the leader. We decided that you could only talk if you had the "stick" to avoid interruptions. We decided each person would receive one of the first graders to take care of them. We had fairly stable Government.

We decided to break people up into about 8 different jobs. I was nominated the hunting leader and I taught everyone how to. We figured out that we needed more people at certain jobs to live. I figure we would prosper for the first couple weeks until something bad happened or a kid went crazy or got hurt. I believe people would run away.
