NHD Project

My National History Day Project is on the nuclear meltdown in Chernobyl. The nuclear meltdown occured in 1986 in a medium-populated area. After this meltdown it released radiation into the surrounding areas. It affected the animals and humans for miles and miles. This can cause complications in the animal or human that has been under the affects of the radiation.

Unfortunately people under the affects can cause cancer. The radiation can also be passed on through child birth which is why this is important toady. People are still getting affected 25 years after the event. My todo list is to make a few more bibliographies to improve my research.

  1. I think you chose a very interesting topic. It's really sad that over two decades later the land affected still can't be used.

  2. Harper, I watched a _Nature_ on this recently: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episodes/radioactive-wolves/introduction/7108/

If you haven't seen it, it's really interesting. Also, the "Resources" page has several sources that may be valuable for your research.
